A 1.7 kb direct tandem repeat unit in the DMR (the K repeat) was replaced with a floxed neomycin resistance gene cassette, which was subsequently excised via transiently expressed Cre-mediated recombination. Northern blot showed no significant difference in gene expression between mutant and wild-type tissues. (J:91593)
