In vitro cre expression excised the floxed PGK-neomycin resistance gene in Xisttm3Nbd, leaving the transcriptional terminator site, SPA-MAZ4 in the region 1.1 kb upstream of the P1 start site. RT-PCR indicates presence of ectopic sense transcription upstream of Xist in mutants. (J:85305)
