As a result of crossing Nkx3-1tm1Saa with transgenic mice expressing cre in the germ line, the floxed exon 2 and neo cassette were excised, leaving exon 1 and a single loxP site. RT-PCR analysis and immunohistochemical analyses confirmed loss of mRNA and protein expression in the posterior prostates of mutant mice. (J:74350)
