An IRES-lacZ gene followed by a floxed neo cassette were inserted into the 5'-untranslated region of exon 1 via homologous recombination deleting part of exon 1. Down-regulation and absence of RNA expression was confirmed by in situ hybridization. LacZ expression does not recapitulate endogenous expression. (J:90513)
