A lacZ with a nuclear localization signal and a pMC1 neo polyA fragment were inserted in-frame into the exon containing the first methionine via homologous recombination. Northern and western blot analysis confirmed the absence of RNA and protein expression in homozygous mutants. LacZ expression was detected in the seminiferous tubules. (J:90439)
