This transgene contains the Chinese hamster MT1 (metallothionein 1) promoter and an allele of the bacterial ada (06-methylguanine DNA methyltransferase) gene. Line 708 integrated approximately 100 copies of the transgene into the genome. After treatment with heavy metals, enzyme activity is detected in liver of transgenic mice. (J:90320)
