Exon 3 as well as the 73 bp of intron 3 that are required for the expression of the Beta1A embryonic splice variant were replaced by a neomycin cassette inserted by homologous recombination. Transcript was undetected in homozygous mutant mice by Northern blot analysis of brain RNA. (J:90136)
