A global hypomorphic Arnt allele was generated by inserting a neo cassette flanked by Loxp sites 3' of exon 6, which encodes the basic helix-loop-helix domain. A third loxp site was inserted 5' of exon 6. Western blot analysis confirmed decreased Arnt expression in all tissues examined from homozygous mice. (J:89470)
