Homologous recombination was used to replace exon 2, containing a conserved cysteine motif, with a neo cassette. RT-PCR revealed a shorter transcript in homozygous mutants than that of wild-type mice, putatively lacking exon 2 and resulting in a frame shift mutation. Flow cytometry indicated an absence of protein surface expression on homozygous spleen cells. (J:34658)
