Sequence encoding cre recombinase was adjoined to mouse Tbx1 promoter sequence that extended 16 kb from the start codon and included the proximal promoter and three conserved enhancer regions. The expression pattern of cre recombinase recapitulated that of Tbx1, with expression observed in the mesenchyme, otic vesicle, and somites during development. (J:88814)
