The endogenous coding region was replaced with a construct containing floxed Sox3 sequence followed by GFP and frt-flanked neo. The floxed Sox3 sequence was removed via cre-mediated recomibination in the germline, leaving GFP downstream of the endogenous promoter. Mutant XY embryos expressed GFP, but not Sox3, in a pattern consistent with that of endogenous Sox3 expression in wild-type mice. This allele was derived from Sox3tm2Rlb (J:88507)
