An IRES-lacZ-MC1-Neomycin cassette was inserted in exon 4 in the midst of the sequence coding for the protease active site. No mRNA transcript was detectable by Northern blot analysis of brain or liver RNA using a cDNA probe located downstream of the insertion site. (J:87678)
