A PGK-neomycin cassette was inserted into exon 1 causing the partial deletion of the promoter region and the 5' part of exon 1 containing the ATG start site. Absence of protein product was demonstrated by immunohistochemistry on tissue sections at E13.5 as well as in situ hybridization to confirm the absence of mRNA transcripts. (J:87676)
