A single loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 1 and a floxed neomycin resistance cassette was inserted in intron 1. A properly targeted ES cell clone was transfected with pCre-Pac in vitro expression vector which eliminated the floxed neomycin gene and left exon 1 flanked by loxP sites. (J:91390)
