A 1.7 kb sequence fragment, encompassing all of exon 1, was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. The deleted region included the start codon, 617 bp of 5' untranslated sequence, and the splice donor site of intron 1. Protein was undetected in homozygous mutant mice by Western blot analysis of endometrial tissue. (J:87478)
