The endogenous locus was disrupted by the insertion of sequence encoding EGFP in frame in exon 3. A truncated protein, in which the cytoplasmic domain was putatively replaced with GFP and thus lacked all intracellular binding sites, was identified in mutant mice by Western blot analysis of hippocampal lysates.
