Exons 2 through 11 were deleted and replaced by a neomycin resistance cassette by homologous recombination in ES cells. RT-PCR analysis confirmed absence of mRNA in whole brain and testis from homozygous mutant mice, whereas the expected band was obtained in wild-type mice. (J:88199)
