The second kinase domain exon was flanked 5' by a loxP site and 3' by a loxP site followed by a PGK-neomycin cassette enclosed in FRT sites and in reverse orientation. The neomycin gene was eventually removed in vivo by breeding to mice expressing FlpE recombinase in the germline. (J:86453)
