A neomycin selection cassette replaced a 9.8 kb genomic fragment containing sequences encoding the QACRG motif of the catalytic site of the encoded protien. RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry experiments confirmed that no detectable transcript and protein was made from this allele. (J:69809)
