A neomycin selection cassette was inserted into exon 1 downstream of the start codon. Immunohistochemical analysis of pituitary sections indicated an absence of protein in homozygous mutant mice. The absence of functional protein produced by this allele was further supported by flow cytometric analysis of splenic cells. (J:87191)
