A 2.5 kb genomic fragment encompassing a portion of the promoter region and exon 1 was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. Transcript was undetected in homozygous mutant mice by RT-PCR analysis of RNA from spinal cord lumbar segments and retinal tissue. (J:86721)
