A single loxP site remained in place of exons 2 through 8 after homologous recombination of floxed neo cassette and its subsequent cre-mediated excision. The deleted region included exons 2 through 5, which are common to the three known splice variants. Protein was undetected in homozygous mutant ES cells by Western blot analysis. (J:86912)
