A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 1 and a floxed neomycin resistance cassette was introduced downstream. Cre mediated excision results in disruption of the gene. No mRNA transcripts were detected in the brain by Northern blot analysis and RT-PCR. Protein product was undetectable immunologically. This allele was generated from Artm2Ska. (J:85484, J:88153)
