The endogenous locus was disrupted via homologous recombination of a targeting vector that contained a lacZ gene followed by a floxed neo gene. The neo gene was excised via cre-mediated recombination prior to germline transmission. Transcript was undetected by RT-PCR analysis of homozygous mutant MEFs. (J:85824)
