A 2.4 kb genomic freagment encompassing exons 1 and 2 was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. Neither transcript nor protein was detected by Northern and Western blot analysis of homozygous mutant MEFs treated with adriamycin, which stimulates expression in wild-type MEFs. (J:85569)
