A PGK-neomycin resistance gene was inserted in exon 9 together with a deletion of sequence at the end of the exon coding for amino acids 323-331. This eliminates the 2 amino acids lining the IMP binding pocket. No detectable mRNA transcripts are formed and Western blot analysis indicates that there is no gene product in thymus, lungs, or lymphocytes. (J:85443)
