A neomycin selection cassette replaced a genomic fragment containing exon 15. Western blot analysis demonstrated that a 45% reduction of encoded protein levels was present in cells derived from heterozygous mice. Cytological analysis of early homozygous mutant embryos demonstrated that no detectable protein was produced from this allele. (J:36546)
