A 4.5 kb fragment encompassing the entire coding region was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. Transcript was undetected by Northern blot analysis of astrocytes derived from homozygous mutant mice. The absence of protein was verified by 2D-PAGE. (J:77283)
