Exon 6 was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette in order to selectively delete the long isoform of the receptor expressed from this gene. RNAse protection assays demonstrated that the short isoform expression is up-regulated in homozygotes and long isoform expression is undetectable. (J:77277)
