An IRES-lacZ gene and neomycin selection cassette replaced a genomic fragment containing most of exon 4 and all of exon 5. Northern blot analysis on RNA derived from testis tissue of homozygous mice demonstrated that no detectable transcript was expressed from this allele. (J:77023)
