The endogenous locus was disrupted by the insertion of a cassette containing IRES-lacZ and floxed neo into the coding region. Absence of a functional protein was indicated by ablated acetylation of Nat2-specific substrates and by Western blot analysis of liver homogenates. Expression of lacZ was driven by the endogenous promoter. (J:84738)
