A neomycin selection cassette replaced a genomic segment containing exon1, which encodes the translation start site and RING finger domain. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that no detectable transcript was present in uteri of homozygous mice. Western blot analysis of proteins derived from uteri of homozygous mice confirmed that no detectable protein product was made. (J:77296)
