A stop codon was inserted into exon 6 via homologous recombination of a targeting vector which also included a loxP flanked neo cassette in intron 5. The insertion of the stop codon precludes the translation of the retention moftif. Mice carrying this allele were bred with transgenic mice expressing cre recombinase to generate Pdgfbtm3.1Cbet.
