Exons 5 and 6 were replaced with a floxed neo cassette inserted by homologous recombination. While normal transcript was undetected by RT-PCR analysis of homozygous mutant kidney tissue, truncated transcript comprised of exons 1 through 4 was detected. The shortened transcript lacked sequence encoding 2 of the 4 zinc binding motifs. (J:80995)
