Exon 11 was replaced by a PGK-neomycin gene. This results in eliminating the region containing the substrate binding pocket and the tetramerization domain in any mRNA that might be transcribed. Resulting mice were genotyped by Southern blots. Absence of protein product was established by Western blot analysis. (J:83957)
