Sequence encoding human CD4 was inserted into a CD2 minigene cassette that contains 4.8 Kb of human CD2 promoter sequence and 5.5 Kb of downstream flanking sequence. Eight transgenic lines were established and line 313, which had 15 to 20 copies of the inserted transgene, was selected for further breeding and study. Human CD4 is expressed in >95% of transgenic T cells as observed by FACS analysis. (J:131345)
