The 3' part of the promoter, the exons encoding the L1 and L2 domains, and the 5' portion of the exon encoding the EC domain were deleted and replaced with a hygromycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was confirmed by RT-PCR analysis of RNA from neutrophils, macrophages, and dendritic cells. (J:83995)
