Sequence specific for the endothelial cell isoform (MLCK210) was disrupted by the insertion of a neo cassette into exon 8, leaving sequence encoding the smooth muscle isoform (MLCK108) intact. Western blot analysis of homozygous mutant mice demonstrated that while MLCK210 protein is undetected, the level of MLCK108 protein is similar to that of wild-type. (J:83394)
