Exon 2 was disrupted by the insertion of a cassette containing lacZ and neo. An elongated transcript resulting from readthrough of the polyadenylation signal of the selection cassette was detected by Northern blot analysis of mutant mice. While protein analysis was not conducted, the allele was putatively null due to stop codons within the neo gene. (J:76344)
