The gene was disrupted by replacement of exon 1 and exon 2 (which encodes part of the DNA-binding domain) with a lacZ-neo cassette via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was confirmed by Northern blot analysis. (J:65416)
