Two coding exons were flanked with a floxed PGK-neo cassette and single loxP site via homologous recombination. The 2 exons and PGK-neo cassette were removed by transient expression of cre recombinase in correctly targeted ES cells. Western blot analysis of brain extracts from homozygous mutant embryos confirmed the absence of gene expression. (J:82911)
