A long isoform specific allele was generated by replacing an 87 bp fragment containing exon 6 with a floxed neomycin selection cassette. RT-PCR analysis and radiolabeled binding assays showed an absence of the long isoform in homozygous mutant mice. Both mRNA and protein levels of the short isoform were increased and equivalent to the level of total Drd2 mRNA and protein in homozygous mice. (J:65770)
