The entire endogenous coding region was replaced with sequence enocoding Gja3. Transcription and translation of the inserted sequence, as well as the ablation of endogenous expression, were verified by Northern and Western blot analyses. Immunocytochemical analysis of homozygous mutant mice verified proper Gja3 protein in fiber gap junctions. (J:73875)
