The gene was disrupted by replacement of the coding exons with an in-frame exon2-lacZ fusion construct and a neomycin resistance gene via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was confirmed by Northern blot analysis of liver and brain RNA. (J:82244)
