The gene was disrupted by replacement of nucleotides 357 - 860 of exon 1 with a GFP-neo cassette via homologous recombination. The gene targeting event results in deletion of the translation initiation site and part of the N-terminal cytosolic domain. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was confirmed by Western blot analysis of brain proteins. (J:81788)
