The gene was disrupted by replacment of a 4.2 kb genomic region (encoding the translation initiation site and the first RNA recognition motif) with a neomycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination. Western blot analysis of embryonic and neonatal brain proteins confirmed the absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals. (J:81794)
