The insertion of a neomycin selection cassette deleted a portion of the zinc finger binding domain and precluded the translation of downstream amino acids. While normal transcript was undetected by Northern blot analysis of homozygous mutant brain and testis tissue, low levels of a transcript encoding 5' amino acids and a portion of neo was observed.
