The gene was disrupted by replacement of exon 6, which encodes the zinc-binding active site, with a neomycin resistance gene resulting in a frameshift mutation and premature stop codon. RT-PCR analysis of RNA from whole homozygous mutant embryos at day E13.5 confirmed the absence of gene expression. (J:54910)
