Exons 1-5 and part of exon 6 were replaced with a neomycin resistance gene via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression was confirmed by Northern blot analysis of fetal liver RNA from E14.5 homozygous mutant embryos. No enzyme activity could be detected in homozygous mutant fetal liver extracts. (J:69831)
