Exon 3 was disrupted by the insertion of a cassette containing IRES-betageo. The deleted region consisted of 38 bp encoding a portion of the predicted transmembrane domain 2 (amino acids 116-128). X-gal staining showed expression of lacZ in occasional cells of the ganglion cell layer. (J:81502)
